CBD, or cannabidiol, is a chemical molecule found in the Cannabis Sativa plant. This is the same family to which marijuana and hemp plants belong to as well. Therefore, like the euphoria-creating and mood-altering substances such as THC (the other main molecule found in the Cannabis sativa plant), marijuana and hemp, CBD is also believed to give you a new “high” when you use or consume it any form.

The internet is replete with lots of information that CBD doesn’t hamper the cognitive functions of your brain because it doesn’t contain any psychoactive properties like THC. Instead, CBD is used for therapeutic purposes because of its medicinal value. While there is one group of people that believes that CBD gives you a high, there is another group of people that believes that CBD helps to cure many ailments.

Yes, CBD is one of the two important molecules found in the cannabis sativa plant, with the other one being THC, the mood-altering drug. However, that doesn’t mean CBD affects your normal functioning by making you feel euphoric, affecting the cognitive powers of your brain, impacting your memory, or hampering your motor skills.

This is because CBD reacts with the CB2 receptors in the human body. CB2 receptors take care of the overall immunity and gastrointestinal health of a person. Therefore, CBD is known to reduce inflammations, pain and stress. It has nothing to do with affecting your brain’s normal functioning.

  1. CBD is legal everywhere because it is safe

Therefore, they assume that the use of CBD is legal in their respective countries. However, this is not the case. Different countries have different rules regarding the legality of CBD use.

In countries like the USA and UK, CBD is legal, only if it contains less than 0.3% of THC. Also, CBD extracted from hemp plants are legal in most of the countries. This is because hemp plants contain a maximum of 0.3% of THC only. CBD extracted from marijuana plants is banned in most of the countries, because marijuana plants contain at least 30% of THC. In some countries where marijuana is legalized for medical reasons, the rules may vary. In countries like Japan, CBD is legal, but only if it contains 0% THC. So, please be aware of your local laws & regulations about CBD before using or consuming it.

These critics have influenced many other people across the globe as well, to believe that CBD doesn’t come with any health benefits and there aren’t proofs to validate how CBD helps in reducing pain & stress.

Yes, CBD is a new entrant in the medical and wellness industry. More and more studies are yet to be conducted on CBD to understand what more it can offer to humanity. However, many reputed universities have conducted initial studies on CBD. The studies have proved that this molecule can help to reduce seizures in kids diagnose with epilepsy.
